Matt Hasselbeck

Matt Hasselbeck enjoyed an 18-season NFL career before transitioning to a role at ESPN on the same day he announced his retirement in 2016. A standout quarterback at Boston College, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Hasselbeck led the BC Eagles as their starting QB, finishing his college career with 4,548 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions.

Selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 1998 NFL Draft, Hasselbeck was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2001, where he became the face of the franchise. During his 10 seasons in Seattle, he led the Seahawks to six playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl berth. A three-time Pro Bowler, Hasselbeck played for the Green Bay Packers (1998-2000), Seattle Seahawks (2001-2010), Tennessee Titans (2011-2012), and Indianapolis Colts (2013-2015), accumulating 36,638 passing yards and 212 touchdowns over the course of his career. In 2021, he was inducted into the Seahawks Ring of Honor as the 13th overall and 11th player to receive the prestigious recognition.

Off the field, Hasselbeck is a dedicated philanthropist, taking on leadership roles with multiple charitable organizations. He actively supports Charity: Water, a nonprofit providing clean drinking water; Medical Teams International, which aids communities affected by disaster and poverty; Danita’s Children, which cares for orphaned and impoverished children; and International Justice Mission, a global organization fighting slavery and human rights abuses.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Hasselbeck attended Xaverian Brothers High School, where he now serves as an assistant football coach.
